Meet the Principal
Outside of being an educator my most treasured roles are that of wife to my husband Brian and our three amazing kids: Braden (5th grade), Braxton (4th grade), and Ashlyn (PreK at Green Gables). We recently visited family in Palisade and were able to pick and enjoy some incredible Colorado Peaches!
Dear Green Gables Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We are eagerly anticipating the return of our students and families as we prepare to make this year amazing! We value each and every one of the members of our community and are grateful to be partnering with you this year.
Our work this school year remains grounded in our mission and vision.
Mission
Green Gables is a collaborative and responsive community that is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment.
Vision
Through high expectations, we empower all students with the academic and social skills to succeed, develop meaningful relationships, and contribute to a better world.
Our mission and vision reflect our core values of collaboration, inclusivity, and nurturing the holistic growth of every student. We firmly believe that by working together, we can create an educational experience that empowers our students to reach their fullest potential and make a positive impact on the world around them.
This school year will continue our work aligned to the Jeffco Thrives 2025 Strategic Plan; ensuring an Extraordinary Student Experience and a learning experience grounded in a Culture of Instructional Excellence for each of our students. Last school year we focused purposely on our systems in support of student learning by refining our work in weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and systems for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). These structures support our incredible staff in collaborating to deepen their knowledge of grade level content standards, internalizing lesson plans, building student work exemplars and respond in a timely manner to student academic and social emotional data. I am so proud of the work our staff engaged in last school year in these systems and know we will continue to deepen our collaboration in support of student outcomes.
At Green Gables we value family partnership and can not do this deeply important work without your support. As you begin to prepare for the upcoming school year here are a few things you can do to support the start back to school and an overall successful school year:
- Attend school daily and be on time!
- Attendance is a critical factor in our students' success and being here matters! When students aren’t here not only are they missing important academic learning they are missed by their classroom community!
- Ask your student about their daily experience at school.
- Engage with weekly communication from your child’s teacher and our Sunday School Messenger. Our website will also be undergoing a rejuvenation this year and has a lot of important information.
- Communicate with our staff in an open and respectful manner. We are here to support your student and your family and value your input and feedback.
- Engage in our community through joining our PTA, our School Accountability Committee, family coffees and school wide events.
I could not be more proud to be the leader of Green Gables Elementary. Our staff, our community and most importantly our students are incredible and whether you are returning to our community or joining us for the first time we are committed to “Leading, Learning, and Growing… Together!”
If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to listen, collaborate, and ensure that we create the best possible learning experience for our students.
Please take a moment to look at important upcoming events listed below.
